Sandra Jean Neill (Pfeil), age 82, found peace on July 11, 2021. She lived an amazing life and was an inspiration to people who were lucky enough to know her.
Born on Christmas eve, 1938 in Waukesha Wisconsin. She attended UW Milwaukee and it was there that she made many of her lifelong friends through Alpha Phi. Sandy graduated with a degree in Education and went on to become a dedicated teacher in the Elmbrook, Wauwatosa and Milwaukee School Districts.
She raised 3 children with love, humor, and a sense of fun. Her family was her greatest joy and she treasured her grandchildren – she passed along her sense of adventure and curiosity and was a true example of resilience and perseverance.
Sandy had a zest for life and adored her fellow Golf Goddesses, her Book Club, Little and Big Club, her rug hooking group and the Champs Lunch Punch Bunch. Her bond of Sisterhood with her friends was one of her most cherished treasures.
Sandy married William Neill later in life and traveled extensively. Together they enjoyed their extended family.
Due to an accident, Sandy lived with a spinal cord injury the last 6 years of her life. Our family is grateful for her many wonderful friends and caregivers (Heather, Carol & Mary) who provided compassion, care and friendship that enabled her the freedom to remain active. When life handed her significant challenges, she handled it with tenacity and grace. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Viola Pfeil, her sister Mary Jo Ruetten and her husband William Neill. She is survived by her 3 children; Mark Ruehle (Patti), Marcy Ruehle -Anderson, Lauree Ruehle- Klees (Paul), as well as 2 grandchildren; Ben & Max Klees. She also leaves behind her sister Nancy Harland, Bill’s children and grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
