Steve William Hughes

Passed away peacefully on May 7, 2022 at the age of 81 from complications related to metastatic prostate cancer.  Steve has resided across the Midwest, including a childhood in LaGrange, IL and both Brookfield and Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin for most of his adult life. Professionally, he was a successful salesperson and general manager in both the semi-conductor electronics and in the material handling fields.  He was an avid train enthusiast, bird lover and had a long-standing interest in naval and aviation history.

Known for his eternal optimism, unbounded kindness and keen sense of humor, Steve leaves behind a void that will be difficult to fill. He was well-loved and lived a life well-lived.

Steve is survived by his daughter Leslie Wainwright and her husband John. He is also survived by his extended family including Carol Coppersmith, her 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy. Steve will be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday May 12, 2022, at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, from 1 PM until the time of Steven’s Funeral Service at 2 PM. A Procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park will follow his service.
