Suzanne T. Haskell

1941 ~ 2021 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Tribute

Suzanne Torcivia Haskell, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully at Amy and Ray’s home in Scottsdale, AZ on December 30, 2021, at 80 years old.

Suzanne was born in Shorewood, WI, in 1941 to Dr. Santo and Anno Torcivia and had three siblings, Mary Catherine, James and Anno.

Married to David S. Haskell, M.D. for 53 years, Suzanne was a loving mother to Amy and David and raised David’s younger siblings, Jeff and Maureen.

Suzanne earned a B.S. in Speech Pathology from Marquette University and was a founding member of the University’s Women’s Council, which awards female Marquette students’ scholarships in art and education. Following graduation, she was a speech therapist for students in the Milwaukee Public Schools and later a docent at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Suzanne’s greatest joy was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and treasured friend to many. She had a keen interest in contemporary art, interior design, hosting “intimate” dinner parties and traveling the world, albeit reluctantly at times. She was blessed with a sharp intellect, quick wit and lit up a room with her beautiful smile, warmth, and spectacular laugh; oh, how she loved to laugh. We will remember her for her optimism, strength, and compassion. Suzanne made the world brighter and better with a lifelong devotion to her faith. She could not have been more loved and will live in our hearts forever.

Suzanne is survived by her daughter Amy (Ray) Lucchesi and son David (Jen) Haskell; Jeffrey (Julie) Haskell, Maureen Haskell; three grandchildren, Mia Bella Lucchesi, Sarah Haskell, and Katie Haskell; siblings Mary Catherine (Joe) St. Louis, James Torcivia (David Schmittke), Anno (Chuck) Goshgarian; nieces Suzanne Luedtke, Anno Hardage; Brook Reise, and nephew Kurt (Ansley) Reise. Suzanne is preceded in death by her husband, David.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30PM on January 7, 2022 at St. Mary's Visitation Parish, 1260 Church Street, Elm Grove, WI, 53122. A reception honoring Suzanne’s life will take place immediately following the service at Blue Mound Golf & Country Club, 10122 W North Ave, Wauwatosa WI 53226. Private family graveside services will be held January 8, 2021 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, East Troy, WI.
