Thomas Lee Schaefer

Thomas "Tom" Lee Schaefer, 94, of Brookfield passed away August 23, 2023. Tom joins his parents, Josephine and Leander Schaefer, and three siblings, Anna Lee Hauser, Margaret Kazmierczak and Joseph Schaefer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Geraldine (Geri) and 6 children: Christoper (Sue), Carolyn Schaefer-Kiker (Charles), Thomas (Rosa), Francis, Shea Steidl (Lynette) Steve Steidl (Lynn Bartl Steidl). Eight grandchildren, Rene Taft (Matt), Dawn Kelly (Todd), Alexandra Schaefer (Matt Fowler), Christina Schaefer, Kennedy Steidl, Lauren Steidl, Brody Steidl, Morgan Steidl, one great grandson Christlan Taft, one brother, Lee Schaefer (Barbara) and many nieces and nephews. Tom was a graduate of the class of 1948 South Dvision High School and 1953 class of Marquette University. He spent his career serving the country with the Marine Corps and the Secret Service. Protecting President Eisenhower through President Reagan. Tom loved playing tennis and was a long-standing member with Elm Grove tennis club. He maintained his friendships with his tennis partners for many years. It was an exciting time for him being part of the tennis competition for Senior Olympics in Arizona.  

Please join the family for Visitation and Mass on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 1755 N Calhoun Road Brookfield WI 53005. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Eulogies will be held at 10:50 AM with Mass to follow at 11 AM. Military Honors will take place following Mass. There will be a lunch and gathering after Mass at Alioto's Restaurant, 3041 N Mayfair Road. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Ronald McDonald House and Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Fund.
