Virginia Clara Ramsak

January 19, 1931 ~ May 14, 2022 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Tribute

Virginia Ramsak passed away May 14, 2022, at 91. Beloved mother, treasured grandmother, cherished great-grandmother, adored aunt, and long-time caring friend to many, Virginia affectionately left her mark on many lives.

Born January 19, 1931, to Anton and Rose (Schmitz) Schaber, Virginia grew up in Milwaukee and went to Messmer High School. She married Joseph Ramsak, Jr., November 6, 1948. They made their home in the Milwaukee area, starting their life together in Greenfield and later moving to New Berlin.  They spent many happy years on Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc, and eventually settled into their home in Brookfield. The couple was blessed with three children: Joseph, Ann Marie, and the late Bryon. They were married 64 years before her husband passed in September 2012.

Virginia modeled faith and devotion consistently, always keeping others’ needs and hardships in her daily prayers and generously supported many charities. She inspired each generation with her love, loyalty, generosity, and spirit of forgiveness. She was also an attentive listener and kept track of each loved one’s fascinations and fortés.

As one granddaughter fondly recalled, “Everyone who ever knew Gammy loved her. It was impossible not to. She led with love.”

Throughout her life, Virginia also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and hospitality.  She always looked forward to Spring, and took pride and pleasure tending her lush flowers beds.  Of course, she relished time with family the most, from holiday celebrations to casual gatherings.

Virginia is survived by her son Joseph E. (Lindsey) Ramsak and daughter Ann Marie (Joseph) Beres, as well as grandchildren Kelly Ramsak, Joseph (Adrea) Beres Jr., Rebecca (Eric) Diamond, Mathew (Sarah) Beres, Brandon Witt, Sarah Ramsak (William Paulson), and Rachel Ramsak; great-grandchildren Cale Clinkert, Hazel Diamond, Billy Paulson, Addison Beres, Emma Beres, Quintin Witt, Kaylee Witt, and Samuel Ramirez; and scores of nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing Virginia were her husband Joseph (affectionately known within the family as Boppy), son Bryon Ramsak, Sr., grandson Joseph E. Ramsak, Jr, grandson Bryon Ramsak, Jr, as well as her parents and all of her siblings.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2022, at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, from 10:30 AM until the time of Virginia’s Funeral Service at 12 Noon. A procession to Highland Memorial Park will follow.
