Zebby P. Maurice

Of Brookfield lost his struggle with mental health and addiction issues on December 4, 2018 at the tender age of 23. Born in Florida, he is the beloved son of Greg and Phyllis (nee May) Maurice, and treasured brother of Thomas “Tommy” M. Maurice, from Brookfield, WI, and Nash Wheeler of Kingman, AZ. He also leaves his adoring paternal grandmother, Lorraine and special aunt, Cheryl May. Zebby will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends; who will forever cherish the memory of his life and his spirit.  Zebby found the love of his short life with Katherine Sweitz.

He was preceded in death by his loving paternal grandfather, Thomas J. Maurice, and his maternal grandparents, Patrick and Barbara McGee; they welcome him home into loving arms.

Zebby was a 2013 graduate of Brookfield Central High School. He was known for his quick wit and remarkable sense of humor, an infectious laugh and contagious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Zeb loved and was loved unconditionally without judgment. A passionate and strong-willed young man, he achieved any challenge he put his mind toward achieving. He will be remembered for his dedication and perseverance. Zebby had a huge heart and was always willing to help his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and spent summers exploring nature at challenge camps and the family’s cottage on Lake Camelot. One of his favorite events at the cottage was the family’s annual “Cousin Fest.” Zeb loved adventure and music, was a talented artist, and enjoyed playing video games. He had been enjoying a sober life style in Los Angeles, CA; while making new friends for the past two years.

In keeping with Zebby’s loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate his organs so that others may live.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at Becker Ritter Funeral Home 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield, WI 53005, from 3:30 PM  until the time of the Remembrance Service at 6:30 PM.
