Maria Buchert

Maria (nee Stier) Buchert passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 at the age of 88 with her loving children by her side.  She was born July 23, 1934 in Zomba Hungary.
 

She is survived by her loving children Matthew (Deborah) Buchert and Maria (John) Kosanke.  Proud and loving Oma of Kaitlyn Kosanke, Alyssa (Dillon) Stegeman, Megan Kosanke, Adam and Alex Buchert.  Loving Oma-Ria to her great grandson Maxwell Kosanke.  Sister-in-law Susan Stier and Brother-in-law Joseph Buchert.  Also, loved and survived by nieces, nephews, godchildren, along with other relatives and friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her loving husband, Adam, of 62 years.  Her parents Mathias & Magadalena (Hirth) Stier.  Brother, John Stier.  Brother-in-law Hans (Leni) Buchert, Sisters-in-law Katherine Toussaint and Anna Buchert.

Maria worked for Nunbush Shoes until she and Adam began their family.  She then became a devoted and loving full-time mother to her children and Oma to her grandchildren and great grandson.  Maria enjoyed sharing her Hungarian and German culture through music, dancing, and her delicious homemade family meals and bakery.  Maria took great pride seeing her family continue on with these traditions.

The family would like to thank Dr. Erin Trampe, nurses Erika and Lynn along with the ProHealthcare Hospice team for their care of Maria.

Visitation at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 4-7PM. Prayer Service with a time of sharing at 7PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish, 1260 Church Street, Elm Grove at 11AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
