Carl started his career in Michigan selling chemicals to foundries. His territory included all the automotive companies. With this success, his company sent him to Europe to establish 4 plants to manufacture foundry chemicals. These plants were located in Britain, France, Germany, and Italy. He was responsible for complete operations and sales and concentrated on the European automotive industry. In the last 15 years of his career he developed and sold environmental equipment to the world market with his primary focus on the Pacific Rim. Carl was a member of the American Foundryman Society, Cope and Drag Club, American Legion Post 449, and Westmoor Country Club. He always referred to his career as a vacation. “I was in a different place every week.” And when asked how he was, his answer was always, “I am fantastic!”

His hobbies were golf and building model airplanes. One of the highlights of his life was going on the Honor Flight with his granddaughter Erin as his guardian. Most of all Carl loved all his girls.
