Ottman, Robert “Bob”
Passed away peacefully on June 3, 2017, at the Congregational Home in Brookfield, WI. He was born December 20, 1928 in Antigo, WI to Fred and Tony Ottman.
After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Army and honorably served in the Korean War from 1950 until 1952. When Bob returned home he met his true love, Carol, at the root beer stand in Antigo. They were married on June 6, 1953. Bob was employed at Koller Manufacturing for 40 years, first as an apprentice tool maker, gradually advancing to plant supervisor.
Bob enjoyed playing golf, bowling, coin collecting, watching cowboy and war movies, and was an avid football fan. Bob also treasured time traveling with his family and watching his grandchildren participate in school and sporting events. After retiring he often spent many Thursdays and Saturdays at Potawatomi Casino playing poker, where he was fondly known as “BobO”.
Bob is survived by 2 daughters, Karen(Don) Felhofer and Kristen Ottman Bruder; 3 grandchildren, Kellie (Tim) Metzenheim, Brian (Sarah Beth) Felhofer, and John (Stephanie) Felhofer, and 8 great grandchildren, Issy, Austin Chelsea, Tim Jr., Chase, Evan, Nolan, Owen and one soon to be born. He also survived by nieces, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carol, his parents, one sister, Phyllis and one brother at birth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Congregational Home of Brookfield would be appreciated.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 10 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon. Committal service to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
