Of Elm Grove passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of Dr. Kenneth A. and Gladys Swartz. Donna went to South Ward Grade School, Waupun High School; graduating class of 1946, she also went to Stephens College, Columbia, MO and the University of WI Madison; where she graduated with a BA in Child Development in 1951. Donna married the love of her life, William R. Burke on January 10, 1951. She was a very social person and active in the Community United Methodist Church in Elm Grove, her high school alumni group, bridge group and has been a member of the Elm Grove Woman’s Club since 1960; serving as president from 1995-1996. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Donna will be sadly missed by her husband, William “Bill” of 67 years, children, William R. Burke Jr., Cynthia A (Steven) Gilligham, Brian K. Burke and Daniel E. Burke; grandchildren, Corey J. and Megan M. Burke; Gail L. and Carol A. Gillingham; William A. and Natalie R. Burke; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation for Donna will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017, from 2:30 PM until the time of the 4:00 PM Memorial Service at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave. Brookfield, WI 53005, online sympathies at www.beckerritter.com.
