Kathleen Patricia Horning (Nee Murphy) Age 83. Died peacefully February 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife of 61 years and best friend of Donald. Loving mother of Terese (Keith) Baisden, Mary Pat (Thomas) Boston, Timothy (Karen), Kathleen (Robert) McNamara, Ann (Timothy) Reardon, Michael (Scott Rambo), Patrick (Elizabeth), and Jennifer (William) Kouvoukliotis. Proud grandma of Peter and Matthew Baisden; Timothy (Kristin), James, John (Annie) and Anna Boston; Emily, Jacob and Matthew Horning; Christopher (Elise), Connor (Michelle) and Clare McNamara; Patrick, Megan, Michael (fiancée Joanne Wycklendt) and Kevin Reardon; Jack Horning; and Theresa, Nicholas, Mary, George and Philip Kouvoukliotis. Dear sister of James (Helen) Murphy, Mary Ann (Dr. Eugene) Drzycimski and Nora (the late Frank) Renner. Preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James and Mary Murphy. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Katy was a graduate of Holy Angels Academy and Marquette University College of Nursing. Katy lived life to the fullest, enjoying her children and grandchildren’s many activities, hosting Sunday family dinners, and sharing her love of baking, especially her famous butterhorns and cookies, with her family and friends. Katy was also a prolific reader and card player. She provided many years of dedicated service to the Ronald McDonald House, Christ Child Society and the St. Gall’s Meal Program.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, WI 53005 from 9:00 am until the time of the Eulogy at 10:45 am, immediately followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. A private family Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ronald McDonald House, the Christ Child Society, Divine Savior Holy Angels High School (www.dsha.info) for a scholarship or Marquette University High School (www.muhs.edu) for a scholarship, would be appreciated by the family.
Katy will be remembered best as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. WE ARE BLESSED with her gifts of unwavering faith and strength. Her gentle and caring personality will be missed by all who knew her.
